This 2 Day Mgahinga Gorilla Safari from Kigali is a short safari tour package designed for travelers with limited time for a gorilla safari holiday. This trip starts and ends in Kigali, Rwanda, to enable you to reduce the driving distance to only 4- to 5-hour drives to Uganda’s Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Detailed itinerary of 2-day Mgahinga gorilla safari
Day 1: Pick up from Kigali and Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National
Start your safari with a pick-up from our safari driver-guide, brief you about the safari. Then, set off on a city tour in Kigali where you will visit the genocide memorial site, local market, among other historical sites. Later, continue to cross the Chyanika border to enter Uganda’s Mgahinga Gorilla National Park via Kisoro. Upon arrival, check into the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Lake Mulehe Safari Lodge – Midrange, Travelers Best Camp – Budget Accommodation.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking and depart to Kigali
Wake up early and enjoy morning breakfast, carry your packed lunch boxes from the lodge, and meet up with your driver -guide to transfer you to the park headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, you will be grouped into a group of 8 people by the park ranger, lead you through forest trails in search of a gorilla family. The trek can last about 30 minutes to 7 hours, depending on their movements from one place to another in search of food. ,Upon finding them, you will be allowed one hour to spend with the gorilla family, observing their unique lifestyle, feeding, as well as capturing videos. After a close encounter with the gorillas, you will trek back to the starting point and be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking. Then, drive out of the park and depart to Kigali. Upon arrival, you will be dropped off at your hotel in Kigali or at any place of your choice. End of 2 Days Mgahinga Gorilla from Kigali.
